Simile & Metaphor

what is simile?? and what is metaphor??

let me explain little bit okayy.

A simile is a figure of speech that indirectly compares two different things by employing the words "like", "as", or "than" as for example:

"Chris was a record-setting runner as fast as a speeding bullet."
"Laughs like a hyena"
"As agile as a monkey"
"As alike as two peas in a pod"
"As bald as a coot"
"As beautiful as nature"
"As big as a bus"
"As big as an elephant"

whereas Metaphor is the concept of understanding one thing in terms of another. A metaphor is a figure of speech that constructs an analogy between two things or ideas, the analogy is conveyed by the use of a metaphorical word in place of some other word. Metaphors compare things without using "like" or "as."

"Her eyes were glistening jewels"
" apple of my eyes'
"love is batlefield'
" My memory is a little cloudy"
